Covers, tops, and every piece in between.
Whether you need canvas built from scratch, a factory cover rebuilt, or one missing strap replaced, it all gets the same careful work.

Custom Canvas Covers
Every custom cover starts at your boat. We measure and pattern on the hull itself, so the finished canvas follows every rail, cleat, and curve instead of bunching where a generic cover would.
Covers are cut from marine-grade acrylic canvas and sewn with UV-resistant thread, with reinforcement at every corner and tie-down point that takes real strain.
- Bimini tops and enclosures
- Mooring and cockpit covers
- Patterned on your boat
- Marine-grade canvas and thread
OEM Replacement Covers
When a factory cover tears, fades, or disappears down the lake, you don't have to settle for a loose universal tarp. And we don't just copy the original pattern: we measure your boat as it sits today and build the replacement around its current dimensions.
Boats change over the years, with new rails, new electronics, and time on the water. Measuring the boat itself instead of a factory spec sheet is how the new cover fits better than the original, backed by heavier canvas and stronger stitching.
- Patterned from current dimensions
- Accounts for added rails and gear
- Upgraded fabric and stitching
- A quality fit, every time

Cover Components and Repairs
A cover is only as good as its hardware. Sew Right replaces lost or broken straps, snaps, grommets, zippers, support poles, and tie-downs, and repairs seams and panels before small damage becomes a new-cover problem.
Bring in the cover, or have us come to the boat. Most component jobs turn around quickly so you're not left uncovered mid-season.
- Straps, snaps, and grommets
- Zippers and support poles
- Seam and panel repairs
- Quick turnaround
Common questions
Boat cover questions, answered straight.
- What kinds of boat covers and tops do you make?
- Custom mooring covers, cockpit and bow covers, bimini tops, full and partial enclosures, camper tops, and replacement covers for worn-out factory canvas. Every piece is patterned on your boat, in our LaGrange, Ohio shop or at your dock.
- Do you build covers for pontoons, fishing boats, and sailboats?
- Yes. Runabouts, pontoons, bass and walleye boats, cruisers, and sailboats all get the same treatment: measured on the hull, cut from marine-grade canvas, and fitted in person.
- Can you replace the isinglass or clear vinyl windows in my enclosure?
- Yes. Cloudy, cracked, or torn isinglass panels are replaced with new clear vinyl, bound and zippered to match the rest of the enclosure. Tired zippers around the panels are usually replaced at the same time.
- Do you repair boat covers, or only make new ones?
- Both. We repair seams and panels and replace zippers, snaps, grommets, straps, tie-downs, and support poles. If the fabric still has life in it, a repair is often the smarter buy, and we will tell you when it is not.
- My factory (OEM) cover is worn out. Can you replace it?
- Yes. Instead of copying the original pattern, we measure the boat as it sits today, so added rails, electronics, and towers are accounted for, then build the replacement in heavier canvas with stronger stitching.
- Do you come to the boat?
- Yes. Mobile service covers dock, marina, storage yard, and driveway visits across Northeast Ohio. The boat never has to move. Farther away? Call and ask; longer trips are arranged case by case.
- What area do you serve?
- The shop is in LaGrange in Lorain County, Ohio. We regularly work across Lorain, Elyria, Oberlin, Medina, the west side of Cleveland, Vermilion, Huron, Sandusky, Port Clinton, and the Lake Erie shoreline, plus inland lakes like Chippewa Lake and the Portage Lakes.
- What is a Sew Right cover made from?
- Marine-grade acrylic canvas, UV-resistant thread, and marine hardware, with doubled reinforcement anywhere a strap, snap, or pole pulls on the fabric. Covers are sewn to live outside through sun, storms, and Ohio winters.
- How much does a custom boat cover cost?
- It depends on the boat, the style of cover, the fabric, and the hardware, so every job is quoted individually. Quotes are free and come with a straight answer on fit and price. Call 440-315-0293 or send a few details through the contact page.
- How long does a new cover or repair take?
- Component repairs and isinglass swaps usually turn around quickly. Full custom covers depend on the season, with spring being the busiest time, so call for the current lead time and get on the schedule early.
- Do you make winter storage covers?
- Yes. A cover patterned to your boat sheds water and snow instead of pooling it, which is what tears universal tarps apart over an Ohio winter.
